Laser Skin Lesion Removal

in Montreal

A medical laser procedure to treat acrochordons, moles, angiomas, keratoses, venous lakes and xanthelasmas with great precision.

THE PROCESS

Laser ablation of skin lesions is a medical procedure generally well tolerated when performed by a physician. The procedure helps remove various benign skin lesions, such as skin tags, moles, keratoses, angiomas and skin fibromas, venous lakes and xanthelasmas, without damaging the surrounding skin.

At Médispa Physimed, we use advanced medical lasers (Nd:YAG and Erbium:YAG) that target only the lesion without damaging the surrounding skin. A medical assessment is carried out beforehand, and a local anesthetic can be used for comfort.

The treatment is fast, minimally invasive, can reduce the risk of scarring in some cases, and the skin can heal naturally within a few days.

FAQs - everything you need to know

Laserlesion removal uses high-precision light energy to target the lesion.

The laser beam is selectively absorbed by the lesion’s cells, causing controlled vaporization. The body then naturally clears the treated cells, allowing the skin to heal cleanly and regain a smooth, even appearance.

At Médispa Physimed, we combine two complementary technologies:

Erbium:YAG - ideal for superficial lesions and sensitive facial areas.

Nd:YAG - effective for deeper or vascular lesions such as angiomas.

This approach is designed to be precise and is generally well tolerated. Treatment is fast, comfortable and offers aesthetic results that are appreciated by some patients.

Before treatment, the doctor evaluates the lesion to confirm that it can be removed by laser, and selects the appropriate type of laser according to its nature and depth.

A numbing cream or small local injection is then applied to numb the area, aiming to improve comfort.

During the procedure, the laser is applied with millimetric precision on the lesion. The sensation is generally mild, similar to a tingling sensation or gentle heat. Each lesion is treated in a matter of seconds to minutes, depending on its size and location.

Recovery is generally short

Slight redness or scabbing may appear in the treated area, but this usually disappears within 2 to 3 days. Most patients resume their normal activities immediately after treatment.

Our doctors will provide you with personalized post-treatment care for optimal healing and aesthetic recovery.

In most cases, the lesion can be removed during the first session.

Rarely, some deeper or more extensive lesions may require a second session, but the vast majority of patients achieve an optimal aesthetic result from the very first treatment.

As healing progresses, the skin gradually returns to its natural color, and any residual redness or crusting fades within a few days. The risk of scarring or discoloration is minimal thanks to the precision of the laser and the non-invasive technique used.

Laserremoval of skin lesions is designed for people wishing to remove benign skin lesions precisely and aesthetically.

Ideal candidates are those who :

  • Have a benign skin lesion confirmed by a doctor (skin tag, non-suspicious mole, keratosis, angioma, dermatofibroma, etc.).
  • Desire a solution with low risk of scarring when indicated, and no interruption to their activities.
  • Looking for a natural aesthetic enhancement while minimizing the risk of scars.

A medical evaluation is always required to confirm the lesion is suitable for laser treatment and to select the best laser for your skin and lesion type.

This treatment is suitable for both face and body. You can remove a single lesion or hundreds in the same session, if appropriate.

Laserremoval effectively treats lesions on almost any body area, including sensitive or visible zones.

Commonly treated regions include :

  • Face eyelids, nose, lips, cheeks, chin
  • Neck and cleavage
  • Hands and arms
  • Back and chest
  • Legs and other body areas

Thanks to laser precision, even delicate areas of the face or eyelids can be treated, while minimizing the risk of scarring or discoloration. Each treatment is tailored to the nature of the lesion and the area to be treated.

Laserskin lesion removal is a procedure that is generally well tolerated, especially when performed by an experienced physician. Side effects are generally mild and temporary.

You may experience :

  • A slight redness or a minor swelling in the treated area.
  • the formation of a small crust or a fine flaking for a few days.
  • a feeling of heat or tightness comparable to a mild sunburn.

These reactions may diminish within a few days, depending on the case. In rare cases, a small variation in pigmentation or a discreet scar may occur, especially if post-treatment care is not respected.

At Médispa Physimed, our doctors adapt each treatment to your skin type and give you personalized recommendations.

In most cases, no maintenance is required once a lesion has been removed. Once the lesion has been removed, the skin heals naturally.

However, some people may develop new lesions over time due to genetic, hormonal or sun-related factors. If needed, occasional touch-ups can be performed. Alternatives such as surgical excision, electrocoagulation, or cryotherapy may be recommended for deeper lesions.

Our doctors always assess the nature of each lesion to recommend the safest and most effective approach for your skin.
